Lyndsay Dorris bought a cow for somebody she doesn't even know. Yes I said cow...and that's not all...she's even bought a goat and given it as a gift. While all her friends are 'ooh-ing and ahh-ing' over  the latest iPod or Kardashian reality show...Lyndsay? She's been making reality a little more bearable for families in third world countries who spend most of their waking hours just trying to survive. Lyndsay is that rare High School Senior who has found that giving, not taking...is a sure way to inner happiness.

It all started in the 8th grade when young Lyndsay wanted to just help. And with the Help of her mother...she began doing fundraisers, with all the money going to buy clothes, school supplies and even farm animals for families from Zimbabwe to Peru. And 4 years later? Lyndsay is just beginning what looks to be a life-long journey of service to those who aren't as fortunate to live within the borders of the United States.

If you think Lyndsay just a single minded young girl...think again! While helping kids a world away...she takes a pretty heavy load for a High schooler....in the IB Program (International Baccalaureate), a gifted athlete on the Volleyball team, she paints, loves the Theater and of course...she has a fondness for service work.

Her latest project? Building a 'well' in a village she will never see. No matter...through the World Vision Organization, she knows the 26- hundred dollars it takes to build that well ...will be well worth it...and save hundreds to thousands of lives. Lyndsay quoting a World Vision statistic..." over four-thousand children a day around the World die each day from dirty water related diseases and parasites..." Lyndsay says...' If people could just take a moment to get a little perspective on how life is in other countries....they would understand how good we have it here in America.'

Interviewing Lyndsay...she is that rare combination of shy and outgoing...unassuming, but take charge. And the moment the conversation turns to her World Vision Projects?....Excitment in her voice and her eyes wide...she's able to give statistics and facts without missing a breath or looking at notes.

Lyndsay is the Real Deal...her mom and dad proud of their only child who will be flying the nest soon. Her Mission is to be a Missionary...but first she might enter the Navy for Nursing or Dental school...she says either field will help her on her mission ...to just...Help.

Lyndsay has started her own Fund Raising Organization ' THE 13TH DAY OF CHRISTMAS ' ... you can find her page on Facebook. Go 'Like' it.
