Wyn Mcconkie and her Mom Nita
Wyn Mcconkie is young, cute and giving. So much so...that when a cousin needed a kidney? Wyn stepped up and volunteered hers. And, what these days seems like a routine surgery and recovery for Wyn? It has been anything but...more like a mysterious nightmare. After donating her kidney in 2010 Wyn has suffered debilitating migraines, had to have her gallbladder removed and has suffered fainting spells leaving her black and blue. But, doctors cannot say if the kidney surgery is related to the headaches and her overall feeling of no energy and her lowered immune system. And because of that ...her subsequent trips to the doctor in search of a diagnosis have not been covered by her insurance. The emotional and physical toll has been immense ...not to mention the toll on her husband David and their 3 kids. Wyn had to resign from her job at the DA's Office because she couldn't drive for fear of passing out. On pain medication, crippling migraines and lack of energy...Wyn is at wits end and has decided to have experimental surgery which again, is not covered by insurance. Expensive and unknown...the surgery hopes to alleviate the pain of the Migraines. In the meantime, Wyn is in diagnosis limbo and just wants her normal life back.
