Caleb Isaacson National Marbles Champion
Asking God to help you win a Marble match seems a little much for an omnipotent being to really worry about. But that’s NOT what Caleb was doing. On his amazing run to become the National Marbles Champ this year…The Gunnison, Colorado kid’s pauses and conversations with the ‘big guy’ were more about patience and calm in a pressure filled environment…and YES …keeping a steady hand in a game that calls for pin-point accuracy is a must …and the perils of not containing that pressure can crush some of the teen and pre-teen players and knock them out of the circle of competition as easy as a flick of the thumb.
Caleb Isaacson has been fiddling with marbles since the 3rd grade and getting to the ‘Olympics’ of Marble madness hasn’t been the problem the last couple of years …but winning the big prize? It has eluded the focused teen until this year, his 3rd trip to Wildwood, New Jersey. That’s when Caleb…basically ran through all ‘Mibsters’ (marbel shooters) …until the last match…which came down to Caleb…refocusing and making his connection with the big guy.
What did he say? And what does mom and dad and even his brothers think about their National Champion son and sibling?
