Terry Riddell just wanted to give her daughter, who was graduating college...a good time. so she said..." Hey ...lets go to Los Angeles and go to the Price is Right game show!" That was probably the one of the best decisions the Richmond, Virginia native has ever made. Because Terry...just didn't sit in the audience...she made contestants row...and then? She just kept winning and winning! To the tune of the Showcase Showdown! Terry ended up collecting a brand new Ford Escape, a trip to Hawaii and ...a trip here to Western Colorado and the Wine Country Inn. The show was actually taped back in June of 2011...it aired in September of 2011...and fast forward to July 2012? Terry and her husband, Damon....have been soaking up the sights and sounds of Western Colorado. And their reactions? A resounding, gasping ..."WOW!" ...With her cute southern accent...this first grade teacher says she and her husband "cannot take enough pictures to do our little Western Slope justice." The two have visited the Grand Mesa, the Bookcliffs, Ouray of course Palisade and Wine Country... and even dipped over into Moab, Utah. To say they are excited is an understatement.
I caught up with the couple on their last day in the Grand Valley...and you would have thought it was their first day here!
How and Why Terry made it to Palisade and the Wine Country Inn...via. Richmond...via. Los Angeles and via. Game Show ...is quite a story!
General Manager of the Wine Country Inn, Joseph Scanlon, says CBS approached him a while back about a Colorado Vacation Package to possibly be given away on the popular game show...but he had no idea it would be the BIG prize or this fun couple from Richmond, Virginia would win it.
