A fuzzy memory of what we might want for this life...hopes and wishes for the way we feel it should be. Rarely do we get to live a dream or have direction toward that dream early in life. Scott McInnis, life after a run for Colorado Governor.
Coloradian, Scott McInnis will tell you he loves the Western Slope and he has more than two decades of public service to prove it. From 1983 to 1993, the Glenwood Springs native, served in the state house of representatives and eventually served as Majority Leader and Chairman of the Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee. Protecting the Western Slope's Water rights was a priority. But it was a race for 2010 Colorado Governor job that took this legislative cowboy to places he hadn't been before. A commanding lead, years of service...the State's 'Top Spot' was almost a guarantee. But then, an accusation of plagiarism derailed the campaign and basically overnight he went from front runner to defender of his integrity and all those years of service? Seemingly now counting for nothing. Scott McInnis lost his bid for Governor...and since? He has worked with some pretty big names, behind the scenes. and the Plagiarism charge? a year later the state Supreme Court fully exonerated him of any wrong doing. Little solace now that the damage is done. But Scott is moving on. At just 58 years-old, this lawman, lawyer, father, husband and grandfather...has set his sights on regrouping and family herein Grand Junction and in Glenwood Springs. He has a few projects on the front range. But like a lot of us, Scott's life is in transition. From a life of politics to ...what now. There is business ventures and then there is the business of life. Scott is moving forward with both.

Scott McInnis and Me in the MBC Grand Broadcasting Studios. Notice how Scott is standing on my Toe? there is a reason for that. Little Trivia for you: In the very famous picture of the signing of the Declaration of Independence...look closely at Thomas Jefferson's foot...he's stepping on John Adams foot! apparently Thomas Jefferson and Adams did not like each other...and Jefferson? He knew the Painter and had him add the 'toe stepping' ...a friendly reminder that all politicians don't get along...and as Scott Says "their not supposed too! It' s our system of Checks and Balances"
